Mediha HanIm's kinda like your Guardian Angel, isn't she Marvin? |
The Dewey Decimal System for Turkish libraries -- first established by Mediha HanIm in 1963 |

---|---|---|
The basic system Mediha recommended in 1963 is still in use today in Turkey and her book Kütüphane Kilavuz (which has been reprinted countless times) is now in its third revised and expanded edition. Below are some excerpts from that book that give insight into the organization of modern Turkish libraries. The excerpts also provide an opportunity for us language-learning strugglers to pick up some useful new Turkish vocabulary. Oh yeah... |
Thanks to Mediha Yurttabir for the samples from her book -- appearing on this page.
